Hi all,

I currently have a LMO work permit that is about to expiry in August 2014 (4 months from now). I have also applied for my Permanent Residency for Canada and received my AOR. While i wait for the application to process I am in the middle of applying for a bridging visa (open work permit). However, i recently left my job under the LMO, will i still be able to apply for a bridging visa?

I have a new job prospective, can I work put this company down as "my new prospective employer" (question 2 on page 3 of the bridging visa application) or should i leave it blank.

On another note, if i decide to take the job before i get my bridging permit will this get me into trouble as my LMO is tied to my previous company.

Any response would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, there is no requirement to still be at your former employer in order to apply for a BOWP. You can leave the prospective employer blank.

You may not start working for another employer until you have the BOWP. Currently you are on a closed permit and you can only work for the employer named in your permit. If you work for somebody else, you are working illegally.
