i am really confused how to apply to the federal skilled worker immigration and how applicants are chosen. because there are 2 different points scale the comprehensive where i earn 380 points and the FSW scale where i earn 71 points. so i should apply to the express entry and if i am in the pool i can be nominated to apply as a skilled worker or it is a different procedure. your help is very appreciated

You must make a profile online through their web portal. Your profile is then used to determine whether you receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence through your selected stream.

In order to qualify for the FSW program, you must score at least 67 on the FSW scale AND earn enough CRS points to be granted an invitation. The FSW scale determines eligibility and the CRS score ranks you against other candidates in the pool.

For example, if the CRS cutoff were 449 points:
- CRS: 380 / FSW: 71 = no invitation, CRS too low.
- CRS: 480 / FSW: 65 = no invitation, FSW too low.
- CRS: 450 / FSW: 70 = invitation.

The most recent cutoffs have been between 440 and 450 points, so although you have enough points on the FSW scale and are therefore technically eligible for the program, you would still need to raise your CRS score by at least 60 points in order to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
