Hi guys have a bit of a dilemma so thought i'd reach out. Ive been living and working in canada for 4 years. Submitted my permanent residency application through provincial nominee stream in august last year and I am currently on an employer specific work visa that doesnt expire until november 2019. Went on a vacation in march and was laid off on the day i returned to work as they had replaced me while i was gone.

Wondering if this will affect my residency application at all? Provincial nominee certificate says not restricted by work and doesnt mention my employer. Do i need to let alberta government know about the changes? and can i leave canada to work in australia for a year while waiting for my application to be approved?

Any help would be much appreciated!

You will have to let AINP know about your change in employment. Nothing will happen since your AINP is without employer support. But informing AINP should be your next time and they will answer your questions about leaving Canada while your PR is processing.
