e cas still says in process. The letter states we are pleased to inform you that the processing of your application for permanent residence in canada has been completed. You are required to submit your passport and photographs by mail within the next 40 days as the validity of your visa has already established and is limited to a fix date and cannot be extended under any circumstances.

e-cas will say "in process" until they issue the COPR. Once they issue the COPR, e-cas will update to "Decision Made". In my case, it updated to DM three days later.

Exactly what mine said except I had 60 days but I figured it was because my medical was done just days before they received my application and still have 6 months before it expires. and I havn't been obsessing about e-cas cus I knew CG's status didn't change till he had already landed, they just got my passport so I don't figure to get stamped till next week.. maybe Tuesday as it's the 23rd and 23 has seemed to be good number with them for me, anyways Congrats!

Our e-cas still stays application received, but if they sent us out a RPRF, obviously it is in process... doesn't even say medicals received. E-cas is as unreliable as the entire immigration process itself :o

i emailed ottawa yesterday to know the update about my file here is the reply i got:

"Your application is in process in Ottawa. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

The standard processing time for your immigration category is 12 months. "

what do you think? is this a kind of automated reply or its really that they are working on my application?

LOL. "Don't call us, we'll call you."

It's not automated, but it probably is cut and paste.

They said the same thing to me when I asked about it in July. About two weeks later, my ecas changed to In Process. So maybe they were like Oh yeah that file! Should probably work on that! :P

Or just as likely, you were at the top of the pile, they got your e-mail and said "let's teach this one a lesson" and moved it down in the pile further.

Also possible. It's sad that they have that much power :o

We've successfully made the move to Edmonton..got a nice apartment..got a good job...then bam..got an email from CIC telling hubby to disregard the request for the FBI they asked for and now they're just waiting on an extension of his medicals which are due to expire on the 27th of Oct. We should get PPR once that happens, who knows how long that will take, they said they had to request it from Ottawa.

CONGRATS CGAGNON!!! I was very happy to read you got your PPR!

Congrats to everyone else as well...it's nice to see progress.

Yeah, it's weird. I got a request for an FBI check on the 4th, the PPR email yesterday, and another email, obviously not a cut and paste response, saying that my FBI check had been matched with my file. It seems like maybe they're handling everything in batches now. A lot of sponsor approvals at once, a bunch of FBI requests at once, and now a bunch of PPRs at once.

So did you submit your FBI with your application? You don't need to apply for FBI any more? That's great for you.Congratulations.
