Looking for work as a visitor from the UK for 1 month

Hi,

Does anybody know if it is permitted by boarder control to go to Canada looking for work as a visitor from the UK for 1 month?

I do not have a visa. I am in the Express Entry pool waiting patiently for the points to hopefully drop.

They say that you can make the most of Express Entry by being proactive and trying to get a job offer via the LMIA process.

So I would like to go to Canada for 1 month just to do a general investigation of recruiters and employers and try to get a feel of how best to try and seek employment through the LMIA process.

I will 100% be going back to the UK after the month is up.

I'm finding it difficult to get any solid information on whether this is permitted.

I've seen some information saying that this is allowed but I've also heard stories of people getting turned around at the airport.

Can anybody give me a definitive answer on this? Or point me at an official Canadian government page the clearly states the rules regarding this?

Thanks

Marcus

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If you hold a UK passport, you are allowed to visit Canada for up to 6 months without a visa. So yes, you can come for a month and during that time network for job possibilities :).

That said, I wouldn't rock up at the border and say "hi I'm here to look for a job" !! ;) You are coming to visit. Do not lie, but unless specifically asked, you don't need to go into detail.

Otherwise the usual applies, return ticket, adequate funds.

Yes I've done a bit more digging and it seems that the only real requirement is that you have to leave at the end of the trip.

Thanks for replying.
