Looking for a condo while overseas

Hi guys!
Me and my wife want to move to Toronto in December.
We keep searching for condos and sending emails threw kijiji.ca, condos.ca and directly to real estate companies but nobody replies. We have no idea why.

We have to proof to our VO that my Canadian wife is looking for jobs and apartments in Canada but no real estate company/condos owners contact us back.
Do you guys have any experience with looking for condos in Toronto while being overseas or any experience in general, applying threw these websites?

What price range are you looking for? Maybe if you're looking at the very low end agents can't be bothered to respond.

The rental market is very hot in Toronto right now. So if someone is renting an apartment and they are contacted by a number of people who are interested, they will definitely go with the person who is already in Toronto and working over you.

You may find you need to live in a temporary place at first (e.g. long stay hotel) before finding something more permanent.

Looking for a condo downtown from 1500-1850 CAD/month, don't mind paying the first, and last two month rent (or a deposit of 2000/3000 CAD). I see that there a lot of condos in this price, but as I said - no replies at all. I think we will call them instead.
