Hi,
I'm hoping someone out there can provide some advice. I received an email from CPC Ottowa on 26 Sept 2014 saying I have been found eligible for a permanent resident visa under the class within which I applied. The email requested I pay the RFPR which I did 2 days later. I have since been in touch asking for an update as I am aware the next step is to receive another email asking that me and my partner (who is also on my application) go for a medical test, provide the results, and then assuming they are clear we will then receive a final email with our residency granted.
A number of my friends already have their residency and when they received their email regarding the final fee to be paid, they received their medical email at practically the same time. This was earlier in 2014 but as I am now waiting almost 5 months and still nothing I'm wondering if anyone knows why this may be the case? If they have said the application has been accepted are there more checks that need to be made before the acceptance is final? Or perhaps there's a known backlog for applications that I'm not aware of? My last correspondence from CPC Ottowa was mid November 2014 and they said the application was still in progress and they would be in touch. I emailed them yesterday for an update and my lawyer has also been in touch but no news back yet.
Is this happening to anyone else? Should I worried and taking this as bad news? Or is this a standard waiting time? I applied in November 2013. The application was "rejected" June 2014 based on a tiny black mark on my partners police cert (he knocked over an ornamental snowman on someone's property while drunk about 6 years ago..) which my lawyer appealed (appeal sent early August last year) and it was accepted as stated in their email 26 Sept 2014.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
