Asalamu alaikum and Ramadan Kareem to the Muslims on here

I was wondering if any of you have coping strategies in place for handling this month when combining the stress of this visa process AND fasting.. plus the time differences so the "not-fasting" time together is either a few minutes (a couple hours at best), or for some of us, non existent and there is always one person fasting.

For anyone not familiar with this time, Muslims are also to fast from becoming overly intimate during the daylight hours so any advice of that nature isn't going to cut it, unfortunately!

Well it is a very legit question and is also quite controversial so that's why you don't see many replies,
Well i totally understand the situation as i have been in this dilemma myself and just not to disappoint you but the reality is there is no way around this,
as not fasting is not an option, there is only few guidelines i can provide,
well during the month of ramadan, join gym, get your body in shape for your spouse, eat healthier, cleansing process of body is way much easier in ramadan, and make a goal to save up all your energy to shape your body into a dream (of your spouse) , so when you are not intimate and spending time apart , you a at least have an alternative goal to work towards.

to be very honest, your spouse may not say it to your face, but every one loves to see their spouse in this slim trim model kinda body, so after a month to see you all toned and cut. it will be rewarding.

I think maybe I wasn't clear, though your answer did provide a good suggestion of exercising. That could help with the stress part and have health benefits, for sure.

I tried to imply that I was looking for ways to cope with, not the intimacy (as that is a pain for any long distance relationship every day of the year, I am sure!) but the stress of not being able to celebrate this month together, and being tired and sometimes grumpy (depending on the person) during the fasting time. In many cases with the distance the couple is not eating at the same time so one person is hyper and cheerful and the other is hungry and a bit out of it at any given time.

So looking back at my original question, I imagine any suggestions others might have for spending special days and holidays away from their spouses while awaiting the visa would help also, so I am sorry to have limited it to Muslims! My apologies!
