London(Heathrow Airport) Layover 7 hours

I have 7 hours layover at Heathrow Airport and I have Canadian study visa and permit. I am going back to Canada after 2 months vacations in India. Will the UK immigration allow me to go out and visit London without UK visa or do I have to apply in advance?

No, you must apply for a UK Visitor Visa if you intend to leave the airport.

You must apply prior to your travel

You cannot leave the airport at all unless if you have a valid visa to UK. Your Canadian work permit nor visa will not give you the right to go outside and explore the city. Stay inside and wait for your 7 hours.
