My wife and myself are Indian citizen living in Toronto , I work for a Canadian company as a software solution specialist on a work permit .
Recently we had to travel to The Bahamas on my work with one of the clients. We reached here on 3rd of June 2011 and my work was extended till 31st of July .Upon reaching Bahamas airport to fly back to Canada airport officer noticed that our visa to fly back to Canada has expired three days back(27-July-2011 but my work permit is valid till end of September 2011). We could not fly back. As per the advice from air Canada officer we stayed back in the Bahamas and applied for Visa by sending application and passport to Canada
High commission in Jamaica, Kingston.High commission requested to produce LMO for time beyond 26 September 2011 (which is current
work permit expiry date. Now we communicated back saying the LMO process will take more than few months time and we are stranded in bahamas .
Highcommission now is asking for 2 things from us.
1. proof that the process has started
2. the company has an approval at least in principal provided by HRSDC
Can someone help me to understand what proof can we submit as I understand from my employer that there is no such reference number that HSRDC provides after submitting LMO application.
Your Help is much appreciated.
