LMO approved.. Next steps?

LMO approved for 6 months... going to do medicals this week. Plan to get the visa at the border...

How long is the work visa going to be?
Can I go early, get the visa and come back to USA?

If you require a medical, you cannot apply at the border. You can only apply to your home country. (Sorry, I missed that part at first.)

That is not my understanding. You can do medical and still apply at the border... Is that not true?
