My employer is willing to do a LMIA for me, my NOC code (forestry supervisor) and $38/hr (above median in Alberta) allows my employer access to the expedited process (10 days) any ideas on the timeframe for a temporary work permit with a LMIA?

Also is it possible to go through this process while applying outland for Spousal sponsorship visa?

Any advice will be appreciated

Don't assume the LMIA is going to take only 10 days. We have lots of examples on this forum where people have qualified for expedited processing but the LMIA has still taken months to process.

Yes - you can go through this process while applying outland.

hi, scylla, btw, what's the different between apply work permission and permanent resident (PR) through LIMA?

Can the situation as jha190 described apply LIMA + PR?

I encountered the similar problems as him/her. My application has been posted 2 months w/o reply.

Thanks.

Thanks.
1. The LMIA and work permit is where the person wishes to work in Canada. The employer pays the $1K
2. The LMIA to support a PR application, No cost, is where the employer will employ the applicant after they receive PR.
