You only need an LMIA if you want to claim the 50 job offer points under Express Entry.I am on PGWP and just reached 1yr Canadian Experience working full time. I worked 3 months for company X and 9 months for company Y. Do I need LMIA for either of these jobs and if so how to get it from current and future employer? Please advise. Thanks
Do I need from both employers or just my current employer is enough for 50 points? You only need an LMIA if you want to claim the 50 job offer points under Express Entry.
Current.Do I need from both employers or just my current employer is enough for 50 points?
1. No, you can't do this. You need to say no for now. If your employer gets and approved LMIA, you can then change the answer to yes.Thank you @scylla .
1. I am working for TCS now and not sure if my employer provides LMIA. So, can I put in yes now and change it later to no if I can't get one?
2. I read somewhere saying PGWP is exempt from LMIA, does that still mean I need to get one apart from letter from my employer?
Thanks @scylla, appreciate it very much!1. No, you can't do this. You need to say no for now. If your employer gets and approved LMIA, you can then change the answer to yes.
2. Yes, a PGWP is an LMIA exempt work permit. However if you want to claim the 50 job offer points under Express Entry, then your employer still needs to get the approved LMIA. If you don't have an approved LMIA, then you can't claim the 50 points.
Can you get a closed LMIA WP and also keep your PGWP?2. Yes, a PGWP is an LMIA exempt work permit. I don't know if you can hold two work permits at once. You can certainly get an LMIA on a PGWP.Can you get a closed LMIA WP and also keep your PGWP?
