"LMIA or Exempt No." on Work permit

I have "LMIA or Exempt No." written on my Work permit in the format AXXXXXXX (X = 1 to 9).
How could I know if it is LMIA number or LMIA Exempt no.? Can we validate the above number somewhere in CIC site? Most probably, it would be a LMIA Exempt number but still want to know if it is mentioned somewhere in CIC site.
