I have been working as NOC 0 for 1 year as a retail supervisor in Canada on an open working holiday permit. I am starting the PR process - how do I instruct my employer on this matter?
I am confused on how to answer this question - Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the job offer in Canada?

Can I not answer this question (so I can submit the profile) until my employer has sorted out the LMIA?

The LMIA is the thing I am most concerned about at this point.

Thanks in advance!

Is your employer willing to undertake the LMIA process and cost? If your employer agrees to move forward the process requires a couple of months at the very least without any guarantees of a positive result. Are you able to qualify for EE without the new job offer?

My points are currently at 418 according to the crs calculator on cic. My birthday is coming up next month so that will probably decrease my points again. So basically, I can't really do anything without this job offer?

Really depends on the province. Each province usually has specifics jobs that are in high demand in that province. Since you are already living and working in a province that complicates things a bit.

I believe LMIA often take 3-4 months but it can take more or less time depending on the case. Yes the cost, the time commitment and the wait time is usually a deterrent for most employers especially with no guarantee. There are some very specific steps you have to follow to qualify for an LMIA like where you have to advertise the job for Canadian applicants and for how long. I think you have to do a bit more research before approaching your employer. Best of luck!
