Hello everyone,

I have an important query. I have one year of Canadian experience as a cook after my masters in culinary. Now through one of my friend I got an opportunity to get interviewed and finally hired with job offer supported by dual intent lmia from another restaurant where I haven’t started working yet. I also got closed work permit with PGWP. Now I am waiting for the joining date which is probably in March. Now assuming now if I claim 50 points and get an invitation via cec express entry, my question is will I be able to apply for cec express entry pr application before even I start that job which is in March or April?
Please any response will be highly appreciated

Joining date dont matter, if you meet cutoff score then you will get ITA.
Yes, my question is after I get ITA if I apply for PR and if my job joining date is a little delayed let’s say one or two month after applying for PR and getting AOR do you think it will impact PR application process? Provided I have all documents with job offer and lmia and closed work permit for 2 years?

As I said job joining date doesnt matter once you get LMIA point. After AOR your points and profile will be locked as they will start processing your application.

That’s great news. I will definitely start my job in couple of months but was just worried if the ircc wonders why am I not working yet, I am just waiting for employers approval to start working as probably the business hours are slower now so they will give me joining date once business starts picking up. But thanks a lot your response help me relieved as I was stressed.

Do you have job offer letter which shows start date? If yes, then upload in the application. That will clear things out.

IRCC is certainly verifying things much more than they were previously did so would suggest getting start date on your employment letter with current date and update as soon as you have started working for the employer via webform.

Sure agreed. Also, I was researching on this topic and found that should the offer letter specifically mention that I will be employed post 1 year after PR because it only says permanent continuous position and valid for 24 months. My closed work permit is valid till 2026 December and isn’t thag sufficient? I love this job and planning to settle and grow in this job further in my career but my question is it mandatory to state that I will be employed for 1 year after PR?

The letter should say you will work for the employer for a minimum of 1 year.
