With unemployment above 7%, the possibility of getting a work permit is pretty limited, with exception of specialty skills.

I applied from Alberta 5 months before for the position of cook but still now no response yet
Same with my case. No update till date, applied in June 2020 but still not received anything.
There is no news regarding that service canada is not processing LMIA'S OF Alberta province.
Hope for best.

Do you guys have any updates? Got LMIA approved online in Alberta (September, 17th), but the employer is not able to get the final approval letter. I don’t understand what’s going on.

Due to high unemployment rates Alberta has stopped granting many WPs.

I know! But nothing is official on any website. So they can’t change the rules without an official statement.

Is this about changes to the TFW? Of course they can change policy without official statements & the press release is on the alberta government website.

But the press says, starts November, 1st. We were approved in September. I don’t get the point. But I can’t change it anyways. But it’s not fair.

It’s fair to all those unemployed Canadians and permanent residents looking for work in Alberta. And, sorry to say, that’s where the governments obligation lies.

But this job I’m doing, no Canadian wants to do. Obviously, LMIA was approved. But that’s my opinion.
