Hello all..
I am a Physiotherapist, currently working under a OWP which will expire in July/2015. I work for a big national company who agreed to apply for my LMIA in order to keep my status in Canada, until I become eligible (Dec/2015) to apply for PR. They have just hired a well-recognized immigration lawyer who will deal with all this process and they are willing to sponsor me during the PR process as well.
Although we are still really early on the process, I am still very confused about the wage question and I did not have a chance to discuss that with the lawyer. I have heard that LMIAs will likely be rejected if the wage is below the provincial median. Currently, I earn 34$/hour, which is way lower than the Alberta’s median (44$/hour), as per JobBank.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get an positive LMIA in this situation? Would they probably need to raise my wage due to the LMIA application? \o/
I would really appreciate some insight on this, as I am preparing myself for this mind blowing process!
Thanks a lot
