Hello guys.

I want some information regarding lmia. Currently I am working as a desktop publisher for almost 2 year in Alberta and I am on pgwp. Is any one who applied lmia for pr. Please let me know few thing.

1- fees? As I know it's free please correct me if I am wrong
2- processing time?
3- what documents from me and my employeer?

Is there any chance to get positive lmia?

have you looked at this site for this information to start with http://www.esdc.gc.ca/en/foreign_workers/hire/index.page?&_ga=1.59745194.686087702.1462253510

It is not free your employer has to pay 1000 CDN and also needs to demonstrate that nobody else is available so is not guaranteed.

1. If you apply for PR support only, there is no application fee. There are however fees involved in the advertising of jobs and time involved in putting together the application package.

2. Depends. If you are in a high wage position, it can be 10 days. Lots of others waiting more than 15 weeks, there is no real standard timeline.

3. Check the link above.

Not gonna lie, Alberta is a tough market at the moment and your employer will struggle to prove that there are no qualified Canadians for your role. Essentially the LMIA process is your employer advertising your job for at least 4 weeks in three locations. Gathering a stack of company financials and history. Proving that the people that applied aren't able to fill the role. Filling in the forms and sending the package in to Service Canada.

Maybe read through the website that BS65 has linked to, it will answer more of your questions.
