Hello,

I am currently on a visitor record because my post-graduation work permit expired. According to my consultant, I must leave Canada once the LMIA is approved to apply for a closed work permit. I would then re-enter the country with an applied status using a TRV, as flagpole is no longer an option. Is it possible to apply for a closed work permit while staying in Canada, or do I have to leave the country and return a few days after applying?

The application cannot be processed from within Canada. You have to apply from outside of Canada.

Once the work permit is approved, you will need to submit your passport for stamping to the visa office outside of Canada.

A few days processing it is many months
