Unfortunately there is no 100% chance, as they'll also check if the requirements on the LMIA match the applicant's skills, employment history etc. In any case, hope you get a positive one!
Thanks Beholder69! I guess the long wait still not over even if you got positive LMIA. :'(
To all those who got positive LMIA, hope we got our work permit soon, the battle still not over.. :p

To all those waiting LMIA, hope you get your positive LMIA then work permit soon. ;D

Anyone who applied for LMIA in November 2014?

My employer applied in Nov 1st week and fees charged in 2 days and we got file number on Nov 12th 2014 but still no response from SC.
I have applied for NOC code A 2147 as a Network Engineer in Ontario with high wage transition plan.

:)Thanks for your reply. Ya mine is 10th week going on.
My employer kept $45/hr much higher than median wage for NOC 2147.

Also I have already filled for my PR in Dec 2014. But I need this badly as my work permit got expired.

If you filed your PR application and CIC federal confirmed/recieved it.. you just have to apply for open work permit.. I guess..

Thank you for your reply. Actually the thing is I completed my 1 year experience on my 1 year post graduation work permit and I just applied for my PR on Dec 29th 2014 as I was still waiting for my LMIA. And my work permit already got expired in Oct end 2014. So right now I am on visitor status. Before my plan was to get LMIA and then apply for express entry as they have offered me a permanent job in LMIA. But as I was pretty sure it will take time so I applied for my PR in Dec last week before express entry launch but still waiting for PR AOR as it takes time. So now I am hoping to get this soon as my visitor visa is ending soon in 3 weeks and I have already applied for visitor status extension.

Any other way to stay here?

Hi everyone,

I am here in Canada on a TRP, I found a job in Toronto, ON the employer is willing to apply for a LMIA but has no idea never done it before, the role is for a programmer/software developer planing on applying under

2174 Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers

what are my chances of getting a positive LMIA?

regards

No one can tell what are your chances, but be prepared that LMIA is a long process: your employer has to advertise position for 1 month to prove that there're no canadians for it, then he can apply for LMIA and has to pay $1000 fee. It may take 4-6 months without advertising period to obtain an LMIA.
