LMIA applicants, please help!

A friend of mine received a positive LMIA and she would like to know if she needs to go to the border to get her work permit, or can she simply enter her LMIA number to her EE profile?

What is she trying to do? Does she want to make sure she receives the additional 600 points under express entry? Or is there something else she's trying to do (i.e. obtain a work permit so that she can start working now).

She wants to obtain the 600 points. She is currently under implied status, her LMO expired and she applied for a visitor's visa so she doesn't lose status. She hasn't received the visitors visa yet.
