LMIA and wage issue(jes_ON, PMM, scylla)

Hello all,

Does anyone have experience of getting a positive LMIA, with a wage below the prevailing in Ontario ($21), but above the entry level for their profession??

LMIA states:

Wages, Working Conditions and Occupations
Employers applying for a labour market impact assessment (LMIA) must pay the TFW:

at a minimum, the posted prevailing wage for the occupation and work location where the TFW will be employed; OR
a wage that is within the same wage range that they are paying their current employees working in the same occupation and same work location, if this range is higher than the prevailing wage.

At the same time though, they also say:

Cap on Low-wage category Positions
offering a wage to a TFW tEmployers hat is below the provincial/territorial median hourly wage will be subject to a maximum 10% cap on the proportion of low-wage TFWs. The cap will be phased in over the next 2 years to provide employers who use the Program with time to transition to a Canadian workforce.

Employers that have a low-wage TFW workforce will be:

limited to 30% or frozen at their current level, whichever is lower;
reduced to 20% beginning July 1, 2015; and
further reduced to 10% on July 1, 2016.
The 10% cap is the maximum percentage of low-wage TFWs that an employer will be allowed to have at a work site, as of July 2016.

no personal experience with LMIAs (few of us do), but - what exactly is your question?

Of course has to be above the minimum/entry level on the profession you apply though...

Based on What LMIA Wages, Working Conditions and Occupations in ESDC, i think wage plays role in getting LMIA(positive or nagative)

you can check the wages report according to region in here (search with your NOC or Job Title.)

honestly, I don't have personal experience with it but had tried to research a bit for one of my friends a while ago if it helps you find your answers.

my employer applied for the LMO months back, and i got it positive.... Few things they verify, first is the WAGE ( answer for ur question) , and then they see whether any Lmo issued in the past 2 years, if so the employer will go through EVC (Employer verification check) that means the officer asks for tax deductions for the company for the past one year, recruitment efforts , T4 summary for company, Current Source deductions for the company and so on..... after all the verified documents, they come to a final decision based on facts , title applied and wage, benefits provided.

My OP had that link, and I quoted the 2 controversial pieces of information from that site...
It clearly states about a cap for low-wage workers, on the high-skilled category

The employer was totally unaware, has never filled for LMO-LMIA before...

The wage is below the prevailing and above the minimum for the occupation, which I think makes sense for a TFW with no previous canadian experience.

Could you explain a bit about the process itself?
Things they pay special attention to?
Any helpful details??

I know all about the advertisement(at least 4 weeks), 3 different places at least, justify how many and why the employer rejected etc...

Can anyone tell me is there any restrictions for a small company of few employers who has a very low yearly income?
The reason of hiring is to expand the business and increase the revenue.
