LMIA and IEC

Hi, my husband and me came in Canada on September with a Working Holliday Visa IEC. My husband got a positive LMIA on March 31. The WHV expired on March 14. The lawyer told us we can work on Implied Status. In order to activate the temporary work permit, We have to go to the border within two weeks with the positive LMIA, marriage certificate, IMM5476 and the copy of the receipt of the open work permit.
I have read it is not possibile to work on implied status after WHV expire.
We're so scared they could deport us.
Could please someone give us any advice? We are confused and scared.

Hey i dont have 100% info. But a friend of mine said there is no implied status for people who come under IEC

In the first place you can only be on implied status if you applied for a work permit extension before the expiry of an existing one and were awaiting your approval. You had no application in progress with CIC so there could be no implied status.

Secondly, the WHV cannot be extended. Your husband should have stopped working during this time. If you are found out it will be an issue.

You need to pay for two work permits (closed permit work for the LMIA and an open work permit, for you) . There is also a new open work permit holder fee that you will need to pay as well. You have two options, go and get your permits or go home. Right now you guys have no status in Canada since your permits have expired.
