We moved to Canada in January 2023 on a closed work permit (LMIA), and I am on a SOWP, working here. This SOWP is valid until September 2024. Now, my husband's new company applied for an LMIA (GTS category) in September and received it within 3 weeks. Later, they applied for a closed work permit change of conditions on October 30th, 2023, and received interim authorization within 3 weeks, allowing him to start working for them. Currently, the actual processing times are 101 days, but we have not yet received a decision on the new work permit, even though it's due yesterday as per the 101-day timeline. Is this normal? Do you guys see any red flags.
We are unable to see the status of our application, as it is all being managed by the organization's law firm.
They also applied for extensions for my SOWP as well. My organization is planning to apply for an LMIA; can they submit it?
can I proceed to submit the LMIA application with maintained status of SOWP?
