Living out of Canada while you sponsor your spouse

Okay, so my husband's case has been transferred to the visa office in Abu Dhabi. He is currently residing in Riyadh and we have a 10 months old daughter. I have come to visit my husband since last 4 months in riyadh. I am a Canadian citizen. Now I just want to know if I stay out of Canada for more than a period of 6 months while the sponsorship is in process, will it affect his application in any way. I wanted to spend the winter here just to avoid canada;s harsh weather one last time. Also my husband's mum passed away recently and he is quite upset. Is there any one who applied while staying out of the country?

So you are a full citizen and not a PR, correct? Then you can live out of the country while sponsoring, however you will need to include proof that you intend to return to Canada once PR is approved. Since you are only staying for 6 months, you can update your application to show you are again living in Canada when the time comes to let them know you are residing in Canada again.

As a Canadian citizen you can stay with your husband and it won't affect your application. However they may require additional information on how you are going to support your family when you return. Hopefully you still have accommodations in Canada and a job to return too.
