Hi,
I just got my permanent residency. I am living alone and i dont have any relatives living in Canada. I want to sponsor my brother. I want him to settle permanently in Canada. We were planning to get him here through INVESTMENT VISA. but i read somewhere that he could be sponsored if you are alone in the country. If this is true this will save me a lot of money.
Please respond at the earliest.
Thank You

There are two ways to sponsor an adult brother.

1) You can sponsor him under the federal system as "one other relative" if you are all alone in Canada, no close relatives, no spouse and you also have no other closer relatives you could sponsor that are outside Canada. That means that if you have children you could sponsor or parents you could sponsor, even if they do not wish to be sponsored, you would not be able to sponsor your brother.

2) You live in Saskatchewan or Manitoba for at least a year and you and your brother both meet the requirements of the provincial nominee program there.
