Living abroad, want to visit Canada

Hello everyone, I am a new guy on the forum.
My situation may be a little different from the others on this forum, I have not found a similar scenario here so far.

I am a Canadian/Russian citizen, I have not lived in Canada for two years. I live and work in Russia and my wife is only a citizen of the Russian Federation and she is currently employed BUT ON MATERNITY LEAVE in Russia. We have one son, he is currently 3 months old. He is a Russian/Canadian citizen.

We want to visit Canada for a couple of months this spring/summer as my parents have a house there and it would seem to be a cheaper way to get our little one to spend some time outdoors than buying a cottage in Russia. We have absolutely no wish or desire to live in Canada permanently.

So my question is: My wife has to apply for a guest visa, now myself being a foreign resident, can I "invite" her to visit Canada or must it be my parents? And what is the likelihood of the Canadian embassy to refuse her on the grounds of thinking that she plans to immigrate to Canada?

Thank you for any help you may provide.

Victor
