Hi Guys,
could anyone help me.
We live in UK and we submitted our supporting documents in Canadian Embassy London last year for Federal skilled worker ,and we are asked to contact embassy towards the end of this year if we don't hear anything from Embassy .My wife is the principal applicant and she is an Indian citizen. We just had a baby and she I on Maternity leave until next year, she is planning to go back to India for a while. is it going to be ok? what is the steps to add our baby to our application form. We just informed embassy that we had a baby by sending his birth certificate. I had a job offer from Australia. Is it ok to go to Australia to work until we hear from London Embassy? What is the best thing to do? how long it is going to take to add a child?

A. Below is the detail of documents or actions that you need to take in order to comply fully with CHC requirements for new born;

1. NEW BORN Birth certificates (hospital and ministry of health). No need of notarization. Only copies can serve the purpose.
2. Passport of new born (and visa page if residing outside homeland)
3. Five photographs as per specification,
4. Additional family information forms (update) and signed in original
5. Demand draft of CAD 150/- (in the name of RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA)
6. Information on height of new born at the time of sending forms.

inform CHC on earliest basis so they do not process your case with out this information otherwise it may take longer than normal due to delayed info

B. What ever move u make, always keep your information lines open with VO and update the status unless temporary like normal visits. But do not worry about making new moves and opting for new job any where in the world. Key point is info sharing with CHC.

gud luk

Living abroad During visa prosessing period

Hi asyousuf,

My name is Lewis. I am currently studying for an MSc in Accounting and Finance in the UK. I intend processing a skilled worker/professional immigration visa to Canada. You seem very knowledgeable on this so I'll ask you to please provide guidance as follows:

1. What is the first step I should take?
2.How long does this process usually take?
3.What are the pitfalls I should avoid i.e the main reasons for visa refusals
4. What other advice would you give me?

Thanks

Follow these links to the CIC site:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

2.How long does this process usually take?
This depends on the VO, some have received their PR within 6 months, others 1 year and others more. Give yourself at least 12 months
3.What are the pitfalls I should avoid i.e the main reasons for visa refusals
Send all the required docs in the format instruted
4. What other advice would you give me?
As in 1,2 and 3 Mandie

Thanks

Hi Asyousuf

My name is Sid and i live in the Middle East - Bahrain.
On a quick note, i am in Indian citizen and i just received my positive LMO and Positive BC PNP.
Now typically for all expats living in this region, the Canadian High Commission is located in UAE - ABU DHABI, the problem i am facing is
that ABU DHABI takes upto 6 months for processing a Work Permit and NEW DELHI India takes about 2 months. I have current job here and i can't afford to take time off and go to India to apply, god for bid i don't get a work permit, then i have jepordized my job out here and my career. So my only option really is to continue working here and apply overseas - India

1) I have no clarity on if i can apply to New Delhi without going there (sending my passport and other relevant docs)
2) If i can do the above, what do i do if I'm called for an interview as i will have no legal document to leave Bahrain.

If you can guide me on the above, i'd really appreciate it, I've spent hours online looking for some gateway of info for cases like mine but have found absolutely nothing...

Cheers!!
