Does the FBI accept livescan fingerprints?(I can't find anywhere that does ink!) If so, does it take longer, shorter, or no time difference to be proccesed for Immigration? Any personal experiences?

Nope, they are still in the paper print age.

They do accept livescan prints (prints taken with a scanner as opposed to rolling your fingers in ink). The confusion is that they don't accept digital submissions. You still have to print them on a card and mail them in. It does not speed the process and several forum members have recently reported that their submissions were deemed unreadable by the FBI after weeks or months of waiting.

Look for a thread called "Post your FBI clearance timelines" or something similar to read more. It is usually on the first page of threads but I don't see it this morning. Allison

My husband did the livescan on to the fingerprint paper that they required and then we mailed that paper to the FBI - got the print back in 6 weeks.

It's so interesting they don't accept them - because that's what the USCIS uses.

Currently, I am in Canada on a work permit. For my immigration application, I need to get my fingerprints done for US police clearance certificate, as I was in the US for three years. I have been told that I need to get the hard fingerprint form from the US, itself, for the fingerprints to be done, as the FBI will not accept Canadian forms. Does anyone know if this is correct, and where can I get the forms form. Thanks in advance
