Hi! My boyfriend and I met online 7 years ago. We had a relationship for more than a year but we haven't seen each other face to face. Now, we are back together after 7 years.

1st Question: Can we use the past relationship as supporting document?
2nd Question: Can we apply for me to visit as a tourist and just live together first? You see, we both don't want to get married yet.
3rd Question: Can I stay more than the allotted time for the visa so we can have the 1 year conjugal partnership?

Please kindly help. Thanks.

Plus, is there any other way that I can get there and live with him without getting married?

1. Yes

2. Yes, you can come and visit him if you are visa exempt or if you need a visit visa, you can apply for one. However, you should not say that you are planning on staying for a year or for 6 months or even an undetermined amount of time because that could get your refused. You should say you will visit for 3 weeks or so. They will ordinarily give you a visa for 6 months. Once in Canada, you "change your mind" about the 3 weeks and stay on. After about 5 months, before your status expires, you apply to extend based on that you are working on qualifying as common law so you can apply for sponsorship.

3. Only if you apply for an extension and it's not conjugal partnership, it's common law partnership.

Another way to go to Canada for a year may include being accepted to college and going on a study permit but for that you need $$$. Getting a job offer and a work permit which in most cases would mean you need certain skills and work experience. Yet another option would be a working holiday visa if your home country has such an agreement with Canada.
