Live-in caregiver - what job after OWP?

Hello,
I am new to this forim. I just apply for my owp and am hoping to get it before the end of the year. Just wondering what other live-in caregivers plan to do after they get their owp. I only have experience doing nanny and housekeeper job. is it good for me to do part-time and rent my own place... I'm in Vancouver and friend told me rent is expensive but friend says parttime you can charge more. My employer is good and I dont mind working for them but they may only want to hire parttime. Where can i find jobs... housekeeper, nanny or others?

hi there,

if you have owp already then you can apply from anywhere else and any kind of job...you can search on bcjobs site of different opportunities aside from being nanny....overwaitea area is a good one to start, just send resume and go for an interview.

Try also this website http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/ if you are looking for a part time cleaning job, the previous website I gave is suitable for you too, you can find a part time job without an experience, try every options + take a look at caregiving agencies like not just nannies, nooks and nannies and others for live-out jobs.

Hi everyone,
I'm so glad i found this forum. I am a LIC and have also just applied for my OWP, and expecting to get it before the end of the year.I have always wondered about jobs outside the LIC and nanny. Most places and online job sites i have tried all need experience, and the only experience i have is as a caregiver. However, i'd like to do something else, maybe a call center or customer service...just anything else besides housekeeping,babysitting or working as a nanny.
Does anyone know any agencies or job sites in Toronto that don't require one to have experience?
