Live in caregiver processing time

hello every one,
can someone help me.cic received my application for permanent residence on september 24 and cic started processing iit in November . and when we check the application processing time,is it according to when they received or is it when they start processing.
and one more thing do they call us during this time.or send us any confirmation letter.

im also working under live in care giver program my 2 years l'll be completed in August2010

yes i still work as live in caregiver with same employer.i havnt got my open work permit.i m waiting for it.i will get it after first stage approval.it been 4 months now i have applied for pr application and open workpermit. i think it will take 6 months.and thats why i was asking whether someone who already got may know what the procedure is.
