Hi,
I came to Canada on visitor's visa, found a family to work as a live-in caregiver for here. They applied for LMO and got approved. I have sent all my papers (including my PASSPORT) to Canadian Consulate in NYC. I got an email from them, they wanted me to come for an interview. But the thing is that they have my passport there, i have no US visa yet and there is no phone number to call them and ask if they have sent my passport back.

Did anyone have a similar situation? I am very desperate and will appreciate any answers.

Thanks

You can fax them and ask for you passport back and explain to them that you need your passport to apply for a B1 visa to the US. Make sure they understand that you're not getting back or cancelling your application. Too bad they required an interview. Seattle as per the posts of some members did not require any interview and they were granted visa/WP.

I couldn't mail it to Seattle. I am in Ottawa, so if they request an interview it would be very far fo me to fly to.

Thanks for your answer.

Yeah, that's really far. Anyway, hope you get a US visa.
