hi, my prospective nanny submitted her completed application for work permit in south africa on april 24. she received her first response fr6 the embassy instructing her to obtain her medical exam. this is great news and seems to be moving quickly! i just thought the medical would be the last step, after interview, etc. am i wrong? what has been the experience of others?

Based on my experience,, i was direct hired from the philippines .... Medical was my last step before i was issued a visa =)

when I applied from HK,I took my medical after I passed my documents, the same day as i passed it...

It depend on the country where you applied your application....

I came from Norway and submitted my application in CHC LOndon. I got my Medical form instruction together with my passport (as I need the passport for my medical); My interview held on the phone and one week after I got that interview then I received that Medical Instructions.(and after my Medical, I returned again my passport to the CHC.) ANd in just 3 weeks after my medical I got back my passport with the Temporary REsident Visa stamped on it. Good luck. Everything will be fine quickly as long as she will passed the medical exams.
