Link Application/No Correspondence

Hello team,

I have signed evidence that immigration recieved my application for PR on the 10th of August, meaning it’s been 2 weeks since they recieved it.

I’ve been unable to link my application, nor have I recieved an email or letter (though I am in the UK so post may take a while) and have sent an email to the IRCC (without application number as we haven’t been allocated one due to the zero correspondence) without reply.

Please help, I don’t know where to go from here to get a word back from IRCC!!

Perhaps it’s my fault in not being able to link the application, any tips from anyone? Any common issues?

Thanks!

It depends on whether you applied Outland or inland. IRCC is currently processing Outland applications received on June 20 and inland applications received on July 20, so depending on which type of application you submitted, you are looking at a wait time of either ~7 weeks or ~3 weeks

Oh wow, I hadn’t seen that - where can you keep track of that information and on how quickly it moves?

We applied Outland. Does this mean I shouldn’t expect any correspondence whatsoever until they start processing applications recieved on our date?

Do you also know by chance if we can get anything done in the meantime before they start processing the application?

I’m specifically thinking about getting my biometrics done.

Thanks

It takes anywhere from 6-10 weeks for an acknowledgement. If after say 8 weeks you hear nothing, you can call ircc and see if they have it in their system. Chances are you wont be able to link before your AOR(acknowledgement). Unfortunately during this process nothing really goes the way we want it. You will need to be more than patient as months can go by with absolutely no correspondance. We went 8 months with nothing, our application was finalized in 12 months and 5 days..

I don’t know about biometrics, but you can’t get anything done until you receive confirmation that your application is complete and that they will start processing it (AOR)

Thanks for the response, though I’m more down about the process than ever at the moment!

We’re applying via Québec, so there’s another set of hurdles we need to jump in addition those set out by the federal government.

Dont get down. Its a long process. Dont compare timeframes either. It sets expectations which lead to false hopes
