233 days in IP, no test invite yet. I'm going to be out of the country for 3-4 weeks. Should I let IRCC know through web form anyway the dates I will be unavailable? Just to avoid unnecessary delays/back n forth.

I'd let them know by WebForm. There's a blank slot in the GCMS notes for it to be made a note of. It might at least prompt the officer who has your file on her/his desk to dig it out and revisit it.

Nope, don’t count on it, I had traveled 3 times since last October, called or sent webform to inform them every time , which all showed up in my GCMS report , but nothing else was done by any officer
