Hi All,
Just want to get your collective opinions on my case.
I already received an ITA under the FSW class and got a checklist for required documents to be uploaded which I have no problems uploading. However there is one document which I am not sure I should include which is the letter of explanation. I have a pretty complicated case I would say.
Here is my situation:
- I was issued a 2 year closed work permit which states that I cannot for any employer other than stated, and cannot work in any location other than stated (AB)
- My wife was issued an open work permit and my dependent a temporary resident permit
- We arrived in Canada Aug 2014 last year and settled in AB. After 2 weeks in AB, I was assigned by my employer to a client project in ON (client required a warm body on site).
- My employer told me that there should not be an issue with the work permit since I am still employed with them and my employment location and position is still based in AB (not taking any jobs in ON)
- My employer is in the IT consulting business and has clients Canada-wide
- My immediate wife's family (parents) lives in Toronto so they accompanied me
- We stayed with them for more than a year while helping us get adjusted to Canadian living
- Me and my family came back to AB last Aug 2015 and have been here since then
Do you think I should include a letter of explanation of why I spent majority of my time in ON with a work permit for AB or is this going to be irrelevant in supporting my application under FSW?
If I need to write a letter of explanation, is it a good idead I use family as the reason why I was there for a long time or would it be better to explain that I was there on a project assignment?
Appreciate the advise. Thanks!
