Letter of explanation - recommended?

Hi all

I was wondering if I should include a letter of explanation, even if I don't need it to clarify anything regarding my other documents.
Does it increase one's chances? (Like a cover letter for a job application?)

One possible thing I could mention is that I want to live in Canada to be with my boyfriend. He is Canadian, and we've been in a long distance relationship for 8 years. That's why I have many trips to Canada in my travel history...
However, I don't know if that speaks FOR or AGAINST me. I got an ITA for the category skilled woker and did not mention my underlying motivation anywhere yet.

Use an LOE only when you need to explain something in your application. It isn't a generic covering letter which can influence the officer or improve your chances.

In your case, I imagine you can skip the LOE if all your documents are in order and require no further explanation from your end.
