I have applied for citizenship in Nov 2017 and received AOR on 8th Jan 2018, because of the new rule 3/5 many have applied and the process seems to be slow now. I am planning for a long vacation next month to my home country to take care of my old parents so I may need to stay there for at least 8 to 10 months.

Do I withdrew my citizenship application or just leave it, advice me please regarding the pros and cons of withdrawal.

Assuming you met the qualifications when you applied and you maintain your PR status while away, there is no legal reason for you to withdraw your application. Your problems will be logistical and monetary: receiving correspondence from IRCC at a Canadian address, traveling back and forth for test, interview oath, etc. Being outside the country when your application is pending might be cause for IRCC to more closely scrutinize your application and might possibly delay processing, but there is no legal bar to traveling abroad during this period.

Thank you links18 for your advice, I already spent more than 750 CAD for applying and I am not willing to spend another 2000 CAD for coming here for test and oath that's the problem.
