Hi Leon and all seniors and pro's..

I worked in Toronto in an accounting firm for 2 months, than had to go to my home country to get married..came back after 4 months and resumed my job with the same employer..i was told the gap of 4 months is not acceptable to CIC officials, when i happen to file for PR under CEC class..From April till july, my continuous work experience is for 4 months...CWC agent told me i should not count the 2 months i have worked before going to my home country..52 weeks has to be continuous..no breaks in between..is that true??so does that means my work experience will be counted from April 2011 only??

Please enlighten me..

Thanks..

hansiescorpian -

you have posted this question 3-4 times already, if you haven't done so already, I suggest you read responses to your other posts.

Alternatively, you could read the CEC instruction guide, it will answer these questions. You're certainly welcome to alternative opinions, but this is really black-and-white fact.

I'm wondering if your "consultant" is simply someone who went through the process a couple of years ago. It is true that, as of early 2008, the 1-year work experience had to be continuous in the Federal Skilled Worker Class. It was officially changed in January 2010 to accept part-time and non-continuous work:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob173.asp

As for Canadian Experience Class, I have a copy of the OP 25 dated 05-04-2009 which states "* Work experience can be part-time and noncontinuous." And that continues to be the case for CEC.

My point is, your consultant is confusing current CEC with old (expired) FSW instructions. This person is either not really a consultant, or a really bad one.

Just do yourself a favor and read the CURRENT instruction guide.

Congrats on the new job, and please don't consider the 6 months "wasted" - that experience led you to the new job :)

Jes, thnx for the reply..so wat u reckon?..should i show my one year work experience starting from this new job, as u said it might create doubt in immigration officer's mind abotu the skilled work experience,if i show my previous work experience (13 CAD for 6 months)..

That would mean my work experience starts from July 2011..damn..

Could you throw a light on this??

Thnx again Jes..
