Hello dear users,

I am considering studying a Diploma program in an Ontario college this September.
Its website states "This 2 years Diploma program is delivered in a compressed format over 45 weeks (3 consecutive semesters)"

I intend to apply for the PGWP after graduating and eventually get a PR. Can someone please tell me how long PGWP will I obtain for the above program.

I would have considered a different program lasting 2 full years but I may not have enough fund for an additional year for the cost of living etc.

Please kindly advice.
Thanks a lot.

Have a look on this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp

I've checked the list, does it mean I'll get only 45 weeks of PGWP then? Also the college is definitely on the list.

Make sure you pick a college that is on the list.

Usually if you apply for two years program but finish it in 1,5 CIC issues 3 year PGWP.
But in your case the university tells that the program is only 45 weeks. So I am not sure what CIC will do in that case.

I have the same issue, with the diploma program that lasts 3 semesters, which is 3x15 (45) weeks - one academic year
According to CIC online info, I would get a 45 week PG work permit. Since it is almost a year, do they issue PGWP for a one year, or stated period of weeks?
This makes a huge difference later when applying for PR, as a FULL year of work experience is required to get the points.

If anyone has gained related experience, any info would be appreciated
tnx

Apart from fact you opened up a 4 year old thread the length of your PGWP will depend on what your college states in your completion/ graduation letter that you need for your application, if they say it was a one year course you should get a one year PGWP. If they say was a 45 week or 11 month course then is possible, no way to predict , you would get a matching period as per the guidelines.

Have you discussed with college how they will state the timeline for this course or even what does it say on the college website ?
