Lenght of stay in Canada while on visitor visa?

Hi guys I have a quick question regarding the validity of the visitor visa while in Canada (That is the lenght of stay in Canada).

At the port of entry, the immigration officer did stamp my passport, but did not put the lenght of stay?

So how do I know when am supposed to leave canada or when my temporary resident status is no longer valid?

If you have no length of stay written in there, you have 6 months. That is the default.

Let's say you want to mail in the spousal sponsorship at the same time with the visitor visa extension.

How would you fill out question 10:

Question 10:
I want to extend my stay in Canada until \-----\------\------\
year Month Day

I am confused on what date to put here since My husband is sponoring me, and we are doing and INLAND application.
