Legal Status during PR application after WP expires

Hi,

Will my status remain legal to stay in Canada during my PR-CEC application process even though my WP will be expired soon and I haven`t heard anything from CIC office about my application status?

Note: I am working under post graduate WP at the moment.
I don`t intend to go out from Canada during my PR-CEC application process.

Did you extend your WP?

A PR application does not give you any status in Canada. When your work permit expires, you have 90 days to apply to restore your status or leave. If you don't want to leave, you can either get an LMO and apply for a new work permit or you can apply to change your status to visitor.
