I came to Canada as an international student. My post-grad open work permit expired in Feb 2022. Therefore, I'm eligible for this 18-month open work permit extension. I already received the email from IRCC saying that they are sending me stuff.
From Feb 2022 until now, I'm currently on a closed work permit sponsored by my employer (LMIA was positive/approved).
Recently, I submitted my PR application. Therefore, right now I'm also eligible for this bridge open work permit.
Now, I want to change my job. Not entirely sure how that works given I'm currently on a closed work permit.
Can I start the new job as soon as submit my application for one of the 2 open work permit programs that I'm eligible for? Which open work permit is better to apply to? Do I have to wait until I receive the approval before starting to work at the new job? Any insights are appreciated!
