Legal Name Change

Hello Everyone,

I have submitted request for legal name change in BC from Vital Statistics agency.

Q1. Once name is changed, is it valid in BC only or in complete Canada?

Q2. I need to get name on the PR card changed once my legal name gets changed. Do I have to send my still valid PR card back to CIC or I can keep it and give them back once they ask me to get the new PR card with my name changed?

1. Valid everywhere.
2. You keep your valid PR card, and hand it in when you pick up your new one.
