I am a Canadian citizen living in Canada, and I am going to marry a U.S. citizen.

We are going to get legally married in the U.S., and have the actual ceremony later. After the legal marriage ceremony, I am going to file an Outland spousal application in the U.S.A.

Between the legal marriage ceremony and the actual ceremony, I am going back to Canada, she is going to remain on the U.S.A.

Will the fact that we got legally married, and then were apart in different countries for a month or two, before she comes to live with me in Canada, have any negative bearing on our application?

No, of course not.

That is way its called an outland application.

Of course your future wife could live with you since she is an USA citizen.

Lucky her! ;)

Good luck!

As long as you have good solid evidence leading up to marriage, living apart after marriage alone should not create any problems. The cases like one had met his/her girlfriend online 3 months ago and never met physically would not be called "good solid" relationship in the eyes of CIC officers.

In reality, many married couples are forced to live far away from each other unfortunately. :(

Being apart for a month or two or even several more (we were apart for 11 months) is fine if you're applying as married spouses. Common-law partners who are recently established as such should be careful that their absences from each other are not prolonged, but there is no cohabitation requirement as married spouses, so you needn't worry about that.
