Hi,
I recently flew to Calgary to visit my girlfriend and was grilled by CIC immigration when I landed, he gave me 6 weeks visitor visa which had to be returned by 1st September, however we applied for extension of stay until December.
However, I decided I needed to return to the UK before I had heard back from CIC as the waiting times were 95 days from start of processing and they hadn't started processing July's applications as yet!
When we got to the airport to fly back to the UK no-one even looked at my passport and I just flew back to Manchester unhindered even though the stamp in my Passport stated 1st Sept and it was the 17th October.
I wish to visit my girlfriend over Christmas but now worry that when I land in Calgary and the immigration notice my passport is stamped with temporary entry and I left 6 weeks later than the stamp I will get grief.
I have the receipt from the CIC website as proof of my application for extension which gave me implied status, my boarding pass and my flight ticket from my return to the UK.
Does anyone know what is likely to happen if I try to go back for 2 to 3 weeks?
Will they say I overstayed?
Will I be denied entry?
Thanks
Martin
