leaving province that nominated you - questions

Hi,
Assume I get a provincial nomination, could I leave the province if I don't find a job say after 3 months,
after living in that province?

At what point will I ever be questioned about leaving the province, if at all?
Is it only during renewal of PR typically after 5 years, or application for citizenship?
Or is there any other instances that I could be questioned on why I left the province?

Does anyone personally know people who left provinces (after provincial nomination)
and were successful obtaining their citizenship? If so, how long did they live in the initial nominated province?

Your Charter rights allow you to abandon the nominating province but may have a negative impact anyone that "supported" your nomination. Ethically, however, you may consider that you should be committed to that province for a reasonable period.

Whether the province could or would come after you for misrepresenting your intention to reside in that province is another matter all together.

One of the basic tenets of PNP program is that the applicant is able to economically establish themselves in the province within reasonable time frame. if you are not able to establish yourself even after your best efforts you still gotta pay the bills has the work conditions changed significantly from what they were when you applied PNP? how much efforts did you do for improving your chances and being economically established are some of the factors to be considered.

I spent 20 months working (on-contract) in the province that nominated me before I moved to another province where I was offered a better paying job. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship in another 24 months. I hope there won't be any hassle because of this move. It's so hard to get a job in manufacturing industry in Ontario!

I've never seen anybody post that they had a problem because they left their PNP province. I have seen it mentioned on CANLII once in a verdict over a person who had lost her PR due to other reasons and was appealing and it was basically just brought up as an extra point to show that she did not follow rules. She did not actually even go to her PNP province after landing and did not spend any time there.

However, if immigration ever gets in the mood to start going after people, they will start with those who left very early after landing so it is safer if you stay for a few months.

With the way things are moving. everything has to be thought out properly. Dealing with CIC means thinking out every step. when you sign on the paper saying that you intend to do this then be prepared that a question may come in one day asking, why you didnt do what you agreed to. especially in the light of cases where people after getting PR (unrelated to current question) immediately move to different province and just use the PNP process as a way to get PR. its the people who abuse the system, make things difficult for everybody and then every normal Joe and Jane has to suffer because of them.
