Hi

To anyone please...

I already applied for a PR 8 months ago, and I already have my open work permit , I am working full time right now.
I wanted to go back home for a vacation for 2-3months this coming summer, my current employer said that they can not allow me to go that long because its against the company policy hence advised me that I can resign and when I come back I just need to re-apply to the company again and if they still need my service they will re-hire me (but of course did not gave any assurance) .

My question is this--
Will there be a problem if I return to canada without a job / employer? even if I already have my open work permit?

Please help , I wanted to make my application as smoothly as possible as I really want to be with my son reason why I wanted to visit my home country while both our PR application is still in process.

My advise is only based on what I've experienced, not to be taken as the law. Things may be different in your case so please do your own research on this.

When you return to Canada, they usually do not check your employment status. I've visited the US a few times and although I was employed in Canada, they never asked for proof on return. You will however need a visa, the permit alone does not allow you to come back to the country. You will need a Temporary Resident visa stamped on your passport and it has to be valid. You can also let them know that you've resigned and will be actively seeking employment once you are allowed into the country.

Obviously you have to be aware that you may receive your MR or Req for more documentation while you are away and they usually have a time limit of 30 days on it.

Hope this helps. Again, please do you own research before taking any action.
